Cycleway junction near Edinburgh Park station.

Cycleway tramway crossing on route 8.

Route 8 crosses the tramway, while the speed limit sign has gained an "except buses, taxis & cycles" plate!

A route sign for the college tells people on bikes to dismount and use the pedestrian crossing.

A sign for route 8 tells people on bikes to dismount and use the pedestrian crossing. There is plenty of room to provide a proper cycleway.

No need for a ramp to connect the cycle path to the tramway crossing and toucan crossing?

Definitely no need for a ramp then?

The view looking west along Edinburgh Family Network route 8, at the junction with the path to Saughton tram stop.

The junction of the Edinburgh Family Network route 8 and the path to Saughton tram stop. The white line on the main path has been erased for a short section. The toucan crossing across Saughton Road is arranged somewhat better than at Broom ... [more]

A path under the railway line at Edinburgh Park station. There isn't really any reason why the steps connecting the path to the station couldn't have a ramp, removing the need for the detour via Lochside Crescent.

Route sign, but without route number shown on previous sign #59010

A tiny route confirmation sign on Baird Drive. Route 8 Edinburgh Park to City Centre.

Puffin crossing (not toucan) on Balgreen Road outside tramstop, which forms part of Edinburgh's cycle route 8.

The cycleway alongside the tramway at Carrick Knowe

While including a cycle track alongside this section of the tramway is commendable, planting the lighting columns within the width of the path is not.

The tramway cycle path shares a flyover with the actual tramway. If only this happened at the road crossings further west! It would have been even better if they'd not mounted the lighting columns within the width of the path.

Ramp down from tramway crossing (see #49593) to cycle path at roadside

Tramway crossing on main tramway cycle path, and ramp down to path alongside road (see also #49594)

Another road crossing on the tramway cycle path, this time away from the tram flyover

Toucan crossing underneath tram bridge. A great place to cross the road!

Tramway cycle path closed off, even though it looks like work has been completed

Tramway cycle path alongside road with random 'No Entry' sign.

The tramway goes over a flyover but the cycleway goes through an obstacle course at road crossing, to improve riders' skills presumably! UPDATE: See #56279 - now work has finished they've replaced the yellow bollard with a thinner black ... [more]

Dismount here?

The tramway cycle path looks worn out and in need of resurfacing!

The 'bus/taxi/cycle only' signs have been painted out and replaced with 'No Entry except local buses'. Why?

Cycle path alongside tramway closed. It also looks like an unnecessarily steep ramp away from the path junction

Bridge beneath railway line, leading to tramway cycle path

Sign pointing the wrong way.
