[Image taken August 2023] A ScotRail train. [No street view relevant to this image.] Four cycles travel with a family on the train they are taking for their annual holiday. The cycles are laden. This means ** much ** less stress for the owners… no need to unload the cycles on the platform or find storage space nearby on the train. I also think this means both the cycles and the luggage are more secure. It would be much harder to manoeuvre a laden cycle off the train, to do so quickly or unnoticed. Likewise if customers can leave the luggage on the cycle the panniers, etc, are less easy for a thief to pick up and get off the train with. LNER never addressed the convenience and easy of leaving luggage on a cycle when I [Rebba] was trying to find out plans for onboard cycle carriage ahead of Azumas being introduced and after their arrival.
