[Image taken 9.1.23] Burton Stone Lane, York. When water gets into longitudinal cracks in tarmac and freezes, the resulting cracks are lateral then become potholes as here. A road on which people on cycles are at real risk from fast moving motorists. We must be able to concentrate on what is going on around us not have to worry about the integrity of the tarmac.
