[Image taken 4.11.22] St Barnabas, Jubilee Terrace, Leeman Road, York. St Barnabas (stbarnabasyork.org.uk/) was the site of several of my York firsts. A consultation – about York Central www.yorkcentral.info/; realisation people who cycle are not necessarily recognised or included – there was no ‘By cycle’ space or ‘How long it took me’, on the How I got here tally sheet. (I wrote one in. And ‘10 minutes’.) More positively, while that act of logic (as it seemed to me) was, it felt, creating consternation among the consulting team, I met Peter Sheaf who, I learned, was relaunching the York Cycle Campaign (yorkcyclecampaign.bike/), and Kate Ravilious – currently Joint Chair. [Note: In July 2022, Peter Sheaf became Chair of Leeds Cycling Campaign www.leedscyclingcampaign.co.uk] The cycle parking is obviously cycle parking – Sheffields, and easy to find – right next to the entrance to the church grounds, plus very convenient for the church entrance. The spaces between the uprights meet existing minimum standards (give or take a cm or three) ie 100cm. Other image here today: #187499.
