The A8 cycle path from Newbridge to Gyle needs major improvements. It puts a major commuter route from the west into Gyle & Gogarburn. Junctions are dangerous, the newly painted junctions make no difference. The car is still king and the many rat runs and side entrances make cycling over these junctions dangerous, not to mention slow. The bridge at Ratho requires cyclists to dismount and walk up and down steps. The only alternative is the dangerous and fast Edinburgh airport underpass.
